Because my sister doesn’t agree.
((YOU SUCK! LEAVE ME ALONE YOU ASS!!! KASSIDY’S RIGHT, IF YOU WEREN’T HERE, LIVE’D BE A HELL OF A LOT BETTER!!!))
I rest my case.
I have to agree with you Shinsun. Goku/Kakarot never strike me as the submissive type in ANYTHING. I used to think he’s uke-ishly naive and meek too, but that changed when he made his appearance against Frieza and hell, throughout the Cell Saga. With his nature, he can accept the bottom position out of love for Vegeta, but look at him in the Cell Saga and when Majin Vegeta confronted him. In canon, that guy is a born seme. It sure does look like he has split personalities (Goku/Kakarot], but he’s still very dominant and capable of being badass when black-haired. I myself love to call him Kakarot, because he’s nothing less than Kakarot, a wild Saiyan, more Saiyan than his Prince. He’s more Goku because he’s raised on Earth, but again, he’s Kakarot. He just desperately needs Vegeta to awaken the Saiyan in him, which we see clearly even in Canon. He’s also a sneaky angel-masked pervert, offering Bulma’s assets to an old man. Even when he’s the non-Saiyan, light-hearted, clueless, happy-go-lucky, smiling-like-there-is-no-tomorrow Goku, his heart is too big he has to have someone to protect and love, and needs someone to do domestics and look after the children (M-preg alert) when he’s busy saving the world or doing his selfish things, being the wanderer and clueless father he is.
Being the perfect match for Goku in both canon and fanon, or all his pride and horrible temper, Vegeta is the domestic type. He’s endured so much unjust and pain, and needs to be loved and understood despite that bravado. His paternal personality is strong he would do everything for his children. And look at how many time he gets his ass handed to him in the series. I totally believe he’s not stronger, but tougher and more enduring than Goku both physically and mentally, which make him best as the bearer and bottom, lol.
The whole seme and uke thing is also under the affect of dubs. The Funimation dub makes Goku less Saiyan and meeker than he is. The Japanese one is more blatant and straightforward, more like a wild man-child than anything, and has very dominant personality depite his female voice. Japanese Vegeta is somewhat sad, resigned and is NOT a badass. He also doesnt have the twisted, dry, sarcastic sense of humor that contributes Chris Sabat’s Vegeta’s seme-ish nature.
Personally, i’m okay with both boys being either seme or uke, for all my top favorite fanworks are the ones in which Vegeta has his share as seme, and both are equally damn hot either way. But i have to say i’m more used to uke!Vegeta, and he can be seme just because Goku loves him lol. Besides, not many seme!Vegeta fanworks have Goku in-character, because he’s SOOOO a seme that anything involving mother-and-wife/submissive Goku is terribly OOC-ing the guy. Seme!Vegeta is very hot and okay, but i don’t feel like it’s Goku when he’s a total uke. After all, they are both macho bastards loving to fight for dominance. That’s all i want them to do.
I totally agree with the last post! I couldn’t have said it better! Thank you ;) In my opinion Goku is the only Anime character who makes a perfect seme.
